Detox Methods to Improve your Health

Hello, my dear Readers,

I began to realize that DETOX is the shit, everyone is doing a detox something, detox bath, detox tea, detox this and detox that. So I decided to look for the best recipes and the most delicious ones to share with you guys.

When I was looking for recipes I found that tons of drinks have apple cider vinegar as an ingredient. You could add apple cider vinegar in the lemonade and the tea that I recommended, but I’m not a fan of the flavour so I take tablets of ACV so I don’t have to drink it. If you would like to do the same as I, you can purchase the tablets HERE (expensive) and HERE (more affordable).

1. Lemon Juice

2. Water

3. Organic Honey

4. Cayenne Peper

5. Cinnamon

Optional – Sweetener maybe stevia or agave. I am a sweet tooth so I like things very sweet so if you are like that, you might want to add a little bit of sweetener, other than just honey.

1.  One cup of green tea

2. Lemon Juice

3. Cinnamon (stick)

4. Organic Honey

Prepare your cup of green tea, and then put it in a pan in the cooker, then you add the cinnamon stick and the lemon juice (a tiny bit) for the infusion. After a couple minutes put your tea back into a cup, add the honey and that’s it. PERFECTION.

the recipe source

– 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast

– 2 quarts chicken broth

– 1 large onion, peeled and chopped

– 3 cups broccoli florets

– 2 1/2 cups sliced carrots

– 2 cups chopped celery

– 1 1/2 cups frozen peas

– 1/4 cup chopped parsley

– 3-4 garlic cloves, minced

– 3 tablespoons fresh shredded or grated ginger

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

– 1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric

– Salt and pepper

Set a large sauce pot over medium heat. Add the olive oil, chopped onions, celery, ginger, and garlic. Saute for 5-6 minutes to soften. Then add the chicken breasts, broth, carrots, apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper, turmeric and 1 teaspoon sea salt.

Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 20+ minutes, until the chicken breasts are cooked through. Then remove the chicken with tongs and set them on a cutting board to cool.

Add the broccoli, peas, and parsley to the pot. Continue to simmer to soften the broccoli. Meanwhile, shred the chicken breasts with two forks, and stir it back into the soup. Once the broccoli is tender, taste, then salt and pepper as needed. Serve warm.

the recipe source

– 3 cups finely chopped kale leaves

– 2 cups finely chopped broccoli florets

– 2 cups finely chopped red cabbage

– 1 cup matchstick (shredded) carrots

– 1 cup roughly chopped fresh cilantro leaves

– 1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds

– 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions

– 1 avocado, peeled pitted and diced

– 1 batch Carrot-Ginger Dressing (see below)

– 1 large carrot, peeled and roughly chopped

– 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar

– 2 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil

– 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger

– 1 tablespoon honey

– 1 tablespoon white (Shiro) miso

– 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

– Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste

Add all ingredients together in a large bowl, and toss to combine.  Serve immediately.  (Or if you are not going to serve the entire salad in one setting, the salad can be mixed without the dressing and refrigerated in a sealed container for up to 2 days with the dressing refrigerated separately in another sealed container.)

Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor, and pulse until completely smooth.  Season to taste with salt and pepper, and/or add extra honey if you’d like a sweeter dressing.

Favourite Rom-Coms

The weekend is almost here, we can almost touch it. And I was thinking what is the best way to spend a weekend in cold weather? The classic MWP: Movie, Wine and Popcorn. I selected 6 of my favourite romantic comedies of all times to inspire you on your movie selection for the weekend. I hope you like it.

Sleepless in Seattle: I will start by saying that I LOVE Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks together, they have an absolute great chemistry. She is amazing, all of her movies are amazing! Sleepless in Seattle is one of my favourite ones! I don’t want to give up anything, so, just watch it and you will see what I am talking about.

Stuck in Love: It is a movie about “an acclaimed writer, his ex-wife, and their teenaged children come to terms with the complexities of love in all its forms over the course of one tumultuous year”. It is soul touching, makes you reflect on your life and the best way to live it.

Under the Tuscan Sun: Lovely movie, very funny with a  beautiful Italian photography. The movie is about a literature critique and writer that is going through a harsh divorce, her best friend Patti offers her a vacation, on a gay tour of Tuscany. The gift is a means to escape dealing with the divorce. Frances, while in Tuscany, impulsively ditches the tour to purchase an aged villa, which ends up being a fixer-upper.

Clueless: This is an ageless movie. My mother loved this movie, I love this movie and my sister loves it too. For the clueless people who’ve never seen this movie or even heard about it, here is a synopsis: “Cher, a high school student in Beverly Hills, must survive the ups and downs of adolescent life. Her external demeanour at first seems superficial, but rather it hides her wit, charm, and intelligence which help her to deal with relationships, friends, family, school, and the all-important teenage social life.”

Something’s Gotta Give: Harry Sanborn is an aged music industry exec with a fondness for younger women like Marin, his latest trophy girlfriend. Things get a little awkward when Harry suffers a heart attack at the home of Marin’s mother Erica. Left in the care of Erica and his doctor, a love triangle starts to take shape. This movie is PURE comedy, I laughed so much. It is a perfect combination of romance and comedy.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona: One of my favourite movies of all times. Two best friends go on a summer vacation to Barcelona and they encounter this hot AF, and they both became enamoured with the painter, unaware that his ex-wife, with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture. Best movie ever.

Bath Essentials

Screen Shot 2018-03-18 at 16.34.38.png

Hello, my dear Readers,

Baths are the best thing ever if you could not figure it out by now, you can check my last post, and see some reasons why you should take a bath.

Since I am so into baths I want to share with you guys a couple of bath essentials to have the best bath ever. I believe bathing is one of the greatest pleasures of all time, and here are some tips to help you improve your bath time:

1. Soaking Salts: because why not? Soaking salts will help you to enjoy the best of your bath time. There are so many different on the market, for detox, calming, even muscle relaxer. Find the one that fits your needs and you are ready.

2. Candles: in your bath, you may just want to relax, so why don’t use some scented candles to help you? Even if you want something more sensual or romantic, candles are the incredible allies to help set the perfect mood.

3. Essential Oils: every well-respected recipe for a good bath include “essential oils”, so I am including them on my list here! Since I am a very educated person and cares about the stuff I talk about, I’ve seen that these oils could boost your bath. But some oils like Peppermint, and the spice oils, like Ginger or Black Pepper, are a huge NO for baths, they can be too irritating to the skin.

4. Wine: I don’t even have to talk about this one, it is simply RELAXATION, babe if you want to relax and have a calmer bath, why not drink some wine? It is P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N.

5. Ginger: it may sound weird, I know! But this is the ingredient that helps you sweat your toxins off! (Click on “ginger” to find out more about how to add ginger to your bath).

6. Milk and Honey: The combination of honey and milk has been used from ancient times to treat skin problems and nourish the skin. When both these skin-benefiting agents are used together, the result is amazing. (Click on the title if you would like to know more).

Bath Time

Hello, my dear Readers,

Let me ask you, is there anything better than a relaxing bath? I think not. So bring your wine and let’s have a talk. I personally LOVE taking detox/relaxing/everything bath. Since baths are sooo good for your mental health and body health, here are 6 reasons to encourage you to take a super amazing bath tonight or tomorrow night.

1. your skin will thank you for it: taking a bath in warm (not hot as hell) water helps the opening of pores and the cleanse of your skin, cleaning you inside and out. A really intelligent girl (aka Lauren Elizabeth) told that if you have took lots of toxins such and grease foods of alcohol, you could take a bath to sweat out all of the toxins, like a sauna.

2. good night’s sleep: specialists have proven that taking a bath before going to sleep could lead to a better night’s rest and could even cure insomnia! How awesome is that!? So be sure to take a bath before your bedtime, so you can have a restful beauty sleep!

3. calm the nervous system: if you went to SoulCycle or the gym and you are so sore you can barely walk, taking a bath may be the solution, because a warm bath can help to calm this ills.

4. it’s romantic: taking a bath is a wonderfully sensual experience, you can have some alone time or with your significant other. Very sexy and it is a change in the routine.

5. have some time alone: time alone is not for sensual purposes only, you could take this time to relax and reflect in solitude. Shut the door and recluse yourself from the outside world and disappear for a moment, without having to worry.

6. it’s cheap: well, bathing is literally free! If you would like to add stuff to your bath to make it more fun, you do not have to spend hundreds of dollars, it can be extremely affordable. A low cost way to bring something very nice to your day.

Bar Cart

Lately I have been obsessed with home decor and one of the things that I noticed that makes a huge difference is a bar cart. Probably the fact that I am turning 22 next month makes me even more crazy about this, for a young adult like me, there is nothing more adult than having your own bar cart.

Now that I am starting my adult life, being all “bachelor Mondays”, “game nights” and this kind of shit I have to say that a bar cart is perfect for all situations specially when you have guests. If you have guests often, this is absolutely for you and if you don’t, you should be able to enjoy a nice cocktail after a long day! So there is no excuse for not having this blessing of the skies in your home.

It is important to know you shit before trying to built a bar cart from scratch. So head in Pinterest and look for inspirations and see what other people are using. And than you can find your own style and customize things.

Here is a beautifully thought check list for you. (you can click on the names to buy the ones I selected)

1. a bar cart… obviously duh.

2. glasses (wine, coupe, champagne, cocktail)

3. cute paper straws

4. Moscow mule copper mugs

5. bottle opener

6. wine rack

7. cocktail shaker

8. coasters

9. ice bucket

Beauty Products To Have Flawless Skin

Hello Readers! I will share with you five beauty products that I literally swear by! And since I am not famous I am speaking it from the heart and not from my pocket, if you know what I mean.

Well I selected some products that I personally tested and included in my beauty routine.

you can click on the names below to shop!

Power Peel™ Transforming Facial System: This is a product I would not use in a routine, after all the steps you skin will be amazing but it is a but rough on the skin so I like to use it and the skip a coupe of weeks before using it again. I love to use it while I prepare a relaxing bath.

Truth Serum®: Now this is a product I saw a lot of bloggers talking about on posts and videos, they were swearing by it, and I just needed to test it myself. First I was using it after I woke up and before I went to bed, but my dermatologist advised me only to use it when I woke up because I have a bit of an oily skin. But I can say that my skin, right now, is as flawless as ever.

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado: This one is a great eye cream very moisturising. Most of the times I use it at night but I saw Olivia Jade on a video applying it in the morning to have a beautiful moisturised eye before applying makeup, I did it a couple of days ago and was amazing, I reallyyy recommend this!

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel: So I was having a problem with my skin a few months ago… In some parts it was really dry and in others was really oily. I was clueless in what to do! I saw that this was one of the best sellers moisturisers at Sephora, so I went to a clinique store and looked for this product bought it and I could not let it go ever since. It is crucial not to confuse the gel one and the cream one, because if you have oily to normal skin the gel is perfect, the cream one is for dry skin, so be careful on the purchase.

Drying Lotion: Back when Snapchat was a thing, before Instagram stories… I always saw a couple of celebs and influencers posting pictures and videos of them with a face full of little pink dots. I did not understand at the time, but then I was enlightened by the magic of this product. If you do it by the book you should not pick at your pimples… but I am quite the rule breaker and I pick it just a bit to get rid of the white spot and then with a cotton swap I grab just a little of the product and put it on the top of the pimple, and the magic will be made overnight!

Soo do you guys use any of this products? Or you use a different one that works miracles? Tell me in the comments!

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

My colour palette is mostly soft, subdued pastels, and my mediums include pencil, pastel, watercolour and acrylic. To further enhance the mystery, my girls are often fading into or out of the background,  as if they are nearly there, speaking to you from a distant place.

I am represented by Thinkspace Gallery US, Just Another Agency AU and Illustration Ltd Worldwide, a member of PRISMA Artist Collective and an advocate with Element Eden.

Whilst I love creating my girls, I also enjoying experimenting in all creative forms including abstract painting, exploring colour, texture, pattern and various subject matters. You can read more about The Experiments (here).”
